DUBLIN — The Alameda County Sheriff’s Office is doing a decent job of keeping on top of COVID-19 at the Santa Rita Jail, an independent consultant found. But inmate rights activists aren’t convinced.
Sabot Consulting released its report after a random spot check on Aug. 25 that found the jail was following recommendations of Alameda County health officials and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Mike Brady, the consultant who wrote the report in the wake of a federal lawsuit against the county over jail conditions. found that 100% of Santa Rita’s staff and 99.99% of inmates wore makes during his visit. Read Full Article
